It feels good to finally rest from all the explaining, to understand that no perfect words were ever going to make them suddenly see you. 

With (covert) narcissists , the obtuseness—the constant “misunderstanding”—is the weapon. It’s how they undermine your confidence in your own intuition, but so subtly that it doesn’t seem like it could possibly be abuse.
